Our dear friend and partner Brad Sinnott passed away peacefully after his battle with cancer.  While we grieve this very difficult loss, we also want to reflect upon and celebrate Brad’s accomplishments and a remarkable career in both law and politics.

Brad graduated with honors from The Ohio State University in 1982.  In 1986, Brad graduated from Capital University Law School where he was Order of Curia and finished first in his class.  In a legal career of over 35 years, Brad was widely recognized nationally as an outstanding employment attorney.  He was a frequent lecturer at trade associations and commercial seminars, including the National Federation of State Medical Boards, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Ohio Self-Insurers Association.  In 2020, Brad was named by peers as the Woodward/White Lawyer of the year for Central Ohio workers compensation defense.

Brad was also very active in politics serving as the Chairman of the Franklin County Republican Central Committee from 2004 to 2020.  Brad served on the Ohio State Medical Board, appointed by George Voinovich, from 1993 to 1998.  Brad also served on the Franklin County Board of Elections from 2012 to 2021, and served as treasurer on two gubernatorial campaigns for John Kasich.

Brad was a proud supporter of The Ohio State University and an avid fan of the Buckeye football team, often following the team wherever they played.

Brad’s contributions to the firm and to our community have been immense.  Brad loved Vorys and he was the consummate partner and professional always serving the best interests of the firm.  While we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are grateful that Brad was our partner and dear friend for many years.

Brad is survived by his spouse Sandra Sinnott, his mother Marvalea Cummins, sisters, nieces and a nephew.  There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium, 1 Capitol Square, Columbus, OH 43215.  Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society Ohio Division, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
