Big Payment Change Coming For New Provider-Based Sites Webinar

Vorys attorneys Jolie Havens and Stephanie Angeloni presented a webinar titled “Big Payment Change Coming For New Provider-Based Sites” hosted by Vorys on December 9, 2015.  The webinar focused on the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 that was signed into law earlier this month and how it fundamentally changed the way new, off-campus hospital outpatient departments (OPDs) will be paid under Medicare.

The webinar also discussed:

•  A brief overview of current provider-based regulations; 
• The impact the new law will have on payments to new, existing, and on-campus OPDs;
• Important exceptions to the new law that will allow certain locations to bill under the OPPS;
• Open issues in need of regulatory clarification; and 
• What hospitals can do now to best preserve their ability to continue receiving provider-based payments under the OPPS.
