Retail Law Conference 2021
Andrew DeBord, an attorney in the Vorys Cincinnati office, was a panelist during the 2021 Retail Law Conference in a breakout session titled “In-house Counsel’s Role in Capturing Savings Via Property Tax Disputes”. Retailers nationally are experiencing significant decreases in the value of their real estate portfolios. As estimated real property values decline, so should real property tax liabilities.
In this session, attendees learned how counsel can work with various internal departments to improve the businesses’ success in capturing true tax savings in jurisdictions from coast to coast. Additionally, this session discussed how in-house legal counsel can play an instrumental role in reducing property tax burdens nationally.
