Overview

Maureen is a trademark attorney in the firm’s Pittsburgh office and a member of the intellectual property group. She has 14 years of experience representing clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies in the protection of their intellectual property.  Maureen is dedicated to working closely with clients to understand their unique business issues and trademark needs. 

Maureen offers comprehensive services in trademark law to help with the creation, acquisition and protection of trademarks.  She advises clients in trademark clearance, branding strategy, domestic and worldwide portfolio management, licensing, internet domain name and trademark disputes, commercial transactions, and customs enforcement.  She also assists in copyright registration and protection.

Maureen has successfully represented a diverse range of global clients in various industries, including apparel, automotive, chemical, insurance, banking, construction, home goods, beauty and cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.  Whether working with large multinational corporations or small businesses, Maureen is committed to providing client-focused legal counsel and support.

Maureen is a member of the International Trademark Association and serves on the Emerging Issues Committee.  She supports Vorys’s VIBE program, through which the firm provides pro bono work to minority-owned small businesses.

Outside of work, Maureen is an avid gardener and botanical and nature artist.  She is a member of and provides outside counsel to the Allegheny Highlands Botanical and Nature Artists society.  Maureen speaks Danish and Russian, and spent two years teaching English as a second language in Moscow, Russia prior to attending law school.

Maureen received her J.D. from Boston College Law School, where she was a member of the International Law Society.  She received her B.A. from The Colorado College.
