Buckley Receives University of Cincinnati College of Law Distinguished Alumni Award
Daniel Buckley, a partner in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the litigation group, was one of three individuals to receive the 2013 University of Cincinnati College of Law Distinguished Alumni Award. According to the College, the “Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients exemplify excellence and achievement in the individual's chosen field of practice or profession.” Less than two percent of the College of Law alumni have received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Other recipients include ambassadors, professors, judges and private practitioners.
Buckley is a seasoned trial lawyer who practices in the areas of business litigation, complex litigation, class actions and probate and fiduciary litigation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and currently serves as chair of its committee on Special Problems in the Administration of Justice. Buckley is listed in Chambers USA, the Best Lawyers in America and Ohio Super Lawyers. In 2007, he received the BTI Consulting Group award for superior client service. Active in the community, Buckley serves on the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati Board of Directors. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
Buckley is a 1974 graduate of the UC College of Law, where he was a case note editor on the University of Cincinnati Law Review. He also served as adjunct professor of trial skills at the College for 15 years and received the Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2009. Buckley has served on the Board of Visitors since 2001. He received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University and also attended the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
