Four Vorys Attorneys Present to Kentucky House Committee
Vorys attorneys Eric Richardson, Jake Mahle, JB Lind and Brent Craft were invited to present to the Kentucky General Assembly’s House Committee on Small Business and Information Technology on February 7, 2019. The group spent more than an hour presenting and answering the Committee’s questions regarding cybersecurity and data breach topics.
The presentation addressed a variety of topics, including:
- Emerging threats, trends and the current legal landscape for cybersecurity;
- Various states’ legislation regarding data breach preparedness and notifications;
- Anticipated legislative changes on the state and federal levels; and
- Recent data breach litigation.
Over the last year, Richardson, Mahle, Lind and Craft have likewise presented to Kentucky’s appellate judiciary, Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Kentucky Bar Association membership at a series of nine continuing legal education seminars around the state, and to the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives. They also teach Information Privacy at the Northern University-Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
