Two Vorys Partners Named 2012 D.C. Super Lawyers
Pamela Bresnahan and Gregory Murphy, partners in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office, have been named 2012 Super Lawyers. Each year, Super Lawyers magazine completes a multi-phased rating process that includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations and recognizes those that have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement as Super Lawyers.
Bresnahan is the head of the litigation practice group in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office. She serves as trial and appellate counsel in business and commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on professional liability defense and coverage litigation. Bresnahan represents lawyers, financial institutions, broker/dealers, financial professionals, directors and officers, fiduciaries, insurers and other professionals. She also serves as coverage and litigation counsel for insurers issuing errors and omissions policies. Bresnahan represents businesses and individuals in securities, intellectual property and other corporate litigation. She also advises law firms and lawyers on management issues and discipline matters.
Murphy is a member of the Vorys litigation practice group. He has a broad national litigation practice, appearing before numerous federal and state trial courts and arguing appeals before federal appellate and state supreme courts. Murphy has tried and defended issues ranging from complex commercial and corporate business claims to employment, personal injury, domestic and criminal cases. During his career he has represented major corporations in disputes with the government, including congressional officials charged with alleged improprieties. Murphy has defended alleged white-collar criminals and represented individuals in cases involving sensitive personal rights (such as the right-to-die decisions against government intervention), multi-million dollar personal injuries, wrongful death, and employment grievances. In addition to litigation, Murphy also has a substantial practice in contract negotiations, including employment and personnel-related matters in a variety of industries such as film, sports, journalism and entertainment.
