Vorys Welcomes 2017 Summer Associates
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease is pleased to welcome 14 summer associates to five of its offices. Matthew Gutierrez, Scott A. Herkamp, Thomas J. Loeb, Paul Wilson Reiser, Larae C. Schraeder, Brigid E. Sharek, Emily J. Taft and James M. Williams will work in the Columbus office; Petra J. Ingerson Bergman and Bailey R. Drexler will work in the Cincinnati office; Krithika Rajkumar and Michelle M. Smith will work in the Cleveland office; Katherine M. Mangapora will work in the Akron office; and Mariam G. Abdelmalak will work in the Houston office.
COLUMBUS:
Matthew Gutierrez is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He recently completed his first year of law school. Matthew received his B.S. from Ohio University.
Scott A. Herkamp is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he is a staff editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. He received his B.A. cum laude from Clemson University. His legal experience includes serving as a summer clerk at a law firm. Prior to attending law school, he worked as an event director at a marketing firm.
Thomas J. Loeb is a student at Georgetown University Law Center where he is a member of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University. His legal experience includes serving as a full-time judicial extern for Justice Sharon L. Kennedy at the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Wilson Reiser is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he is a staff editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. He also serves as president of the International Law Society. He received his B.A. from the University of Montana. His legal experience includes serving as a summer associate at a law firm. Wilson served as a legislative intern for the Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s Office prior to attending law school.
Larae C. Schraeder is a student at Capital University Law School. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from Kenyon College. Larae’s legal experience includes serving as an extern to the Honorable Judge Algenon Marbley in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Larae is currently the Director of Corporate Library & Archives at Nationwide Insurance.
Brigid E. Sharek is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She received her M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame and her B.S. summa cum laude from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Her legal experience includes serving as a summer associate at Vorys in 2016. Prior to attending Law School, Brigid worked as a research assistant at the University of Texas at San Antonio and at the University of Notre Dame.
Emily J. Taft is a student at Duke University School of Law, where she is a staff editor for the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy and the Duke Law & Technology Review. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Colgate University. Her legal experience includes serving as a judicial intern to the Honorable Richard J. Leon in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
James M. Williams is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His legal experience includes serving as a summer intern for two summers at a law firm.
CINCINNATI:
Petra J. Ingerson Bergman is a student at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she is an associate member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. She received her Culinary Arts Certificate from the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State Technical College and her B.A. from Wheaton College. Petra is a student representative for Lexis Nexis at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Bailey R. Drexler is a student at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she is a member of the Minnesota Law Review. She received her B.A. cum laude from Xavier University. Bailey’s legal experience includes serving as a law clerk at a law firm in Minnesota.
CLEVELAND:
Krithika Rajkumar is a student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She received her B.A. from Case Western Reserve University. Her legal experience includes serving as a legal extern to the Honorable Judge Tim McCormack in the 8th District Court of Appeals. She also served as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office, Special Proceedings in Washington, D.C. Prior to attending law school, she served as a law clerk for the Human Rights Law Network (HLRN) in Chennai, India.
Michelle M. Smith is a student at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she is an associate member of the Cleveland State Law Review. She received her M.B.A. and her M.A. from the University of Akron, and her B.S. magna cum laude from Austin Peay State University. Her legal experience includes serving as a law clerk at a law firm. Prior to attending law school, she was the director of women’s soccer operations at the University of Akron.
AKRON:
Katherine M. Mangapora is a student at the University of Michigan Law School, where she is an associate editor of the Michigan Journal of Law and Reform. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Youngstown State University. Her legal experience includes serving as a law clerk in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
HOUSTON:
Mariam Abdelmalak is a student at the University of Houston Law Center, where she is a member of the Journal of Health Law and Policy. She received her B.S. summa cum laude from the University of Houston. Her legal experience includes serving as a legal intern for the Texas United Management Corporation in Houston.
