Whitaker Quoted in Cincinnati Business Courier Story, “A Deeper Look at What Could Happen in Chemed's Federal Lawsuit”
Glenn Whitaker, a partner in the Vorys Cincinnati office and member of the litigation group, was quoted in a Cincinnati Business Courier story about a False Claims Act case filed against Chemed. In the lawsuit, the federal government accused the company of filing false Medicare claims for hospice services. In the story, Whitaker says that these cases are not easy for the government to win.
The story states:
“‘The problem from the government’s standpoint is that these kinds of cases generally involve interpretation of medical records,’ said Glenn Whitaker, a partner in the Cincinnati office of law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease. ‘Just because it’s not documented doesn’t mean the service wasn’t performed.’
And every health care professional, he said, documents cases differently.”
