Ziance featured in Columbus Dispatch Story on JobsOhio's Economic Development Incentives
Scott Ziance, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was featured in a Columbus Dispatch story regarding the economic development incentives that will be used by JobsOhio, the state’s new privately run job creation agency.
The story titled “Analysis: Development loans in JobsOhio arsenal” states:
“Scott Ziance, an economic-development lawyer for Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, said JobsOhio would ‘do a lot of the same things the Department of Development is doing now, offering the same type of loan (and grant) programs.’
However, he said, the major differences, and improvements, in the JobsOhio model include the speed and confidentiality of working with the privatized agency.
‘One thing that’s important for a lot of our clients is confidentiality, and that’s an important part of what JobsOhio is able to do,’ Ziance said. ‘A business might feel more comfortable sharing information with JobsOhio than with the Department of Development. That’s positive. It helps businesses to be able to have conversations earlier in the process that could lead to more jobs.’”
