Fusonie quoted in Norwalk Ohio News Story on ODOT Project

Tom Fusonie, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office and member of the litigation group, was quoted in a Norwalk Ohio News story about a lawsuit filed by the firm on behalf of a client, Summit Motorsports Park, to stop a roundabout proposed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).   According to the story, ODOT tried to take property from the owners of the motorsports park via official action earlier this year.  The property owners refused and asked ODOT to least delay construction until other options, including moving the roundabout, are further investigated.

The story states:

“On Feb. 20, Thomas H. Fusonie from Columbus-based law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP sent a letter to Gov. Mike DeWine and ODOT Director Jack Marchbanks, requesting a veto of the ‘unprecedented roundabout project’ or at least a pause of it to allow for further analysis and consideration of its impacts.

In the five-page document, Fusonie explained that Summit Motorsports is a nationally recognized, family-oriented motorsports-racing park that has been in operation for more than 60 years and owned by the Bader family for more than 50 years. The facility and connected property consist of about 290 acres, mostly on the north side of Ohio 18, though 25 acres on the south side are used for parking and fireworks displays.

‘Ensuring the safety of both its visitors, employees and neighbors is a core concern of Summit Motorsports, including as visitors enter and leave the park,’ Fusonie stated in the letter to DeWine and Marchbanks."
