Miller Quoted in Columbus Dispatch story titled “Hilliard City Council Rejects Resolution for Local Mosque's Proposed Community Center”
Joe Miller, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and chair of the litigation group, was quoted in the Columbus Dispatch about the City of Hilliard’s rejection of redevelopment plans put forth by a local building owner. The building’s owner is an entity affiliated with the Noor Islamic Cultural Center mosque. The proposed redevelopment plans add amenities including a school, day care, and a community event space to the 220,000-square-foot office building.
“Joe Miller, a partner at the firm representing a developer who sued the city of Dublin last year over declining redevelopment plans, told Hilliard City Council that denying the application would be 'needlessly subjecting this city, your constituents and its taxpayers to liability for substantial damages and attorneys' fees.’
‘Federal civil rights laws exist for situations such as this,’ Miller said.”
