Schmidt Quoted in Business Law Today Feature on Integrating Lateral Partners

Britt Schmidt, the firm’s chief talent and inclusion officer, provided insights for a feature in the American Bar Association’s Business Law Today on integrating lateral partner hires into a firm.  She explained processes that the law firm and the legal talent team employes to smooth the transition, including scheduling meetings with relevant firm contacts on behalf of the hire and providing a clear definition of success for the hire in relation to the firm’s goals.

Schmidt says in the story:

“In terms of successful integration, it all comes back to defining what success looks like,” she said. “We spend time up front discussing this with each lateral partner because success can mean different things depending on the reasons for the hire. It’s about aligning their goals with the firm’s strategic objectives.”
