Vorys is pleased to announce that Wesley Abrams, Oliver Frey, Danielle Rice, Karey Werner and Elissa Wilson became partners on January 1, 2025. Learn more about each of them below:
COLUMBUS
Oliver Frey is a member of the firm’s labor and employment group. His practice focuses on employment litigation in both state and federal courts, including single plaintiff matters such as discrimination, harassment or retaliation claims, as well as class and collective actions and appeals. Oliver has participated in litigation before state and federal courts and administrative bodies. He has experience litigating employment-adjacent tort and contract matters, including trade secret, non-compete and defamation cases.
Danielle Rice is a member of the litigation group and a member of the appellate practice subgroup. Her practice is focused on antitrust law as well as commercial and business disputes. Danielle has participated in litigation before state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate level. She has significant experience with class action litigation, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in these matters. She also has experience negotiating resolutions for both pre- and post-lawsuit matters on behalf of clients.
Elissa Wilson is a member of the firm’s tax group and the economic development incentives team. Her practice focuses on structuring and negotiating incentives packages, utilizing tax credits, abatements, economic development financing mechanisms, public-private partnerships and special economic development entities for projects across the United States. Elissa represents clients in various industries with development projects across the site selection, incentive negotiation and implementation processes.
CLEVELAND
Karey Werner is a member of the firm’s litigation group. Her practice focuses on business and commercial litigation. Karey has participated in litigation in court as well as appearing before arbitration panels. She has represented clients in banking, insurance, construction and other industries. Karey has experience in matters related to malpractice, commercial contract disputes, secured transaction disputes, violations of Ohio Uniform Commercial Code and other litigation.
CINCINNATI
Wesley Abrams is a member of the firm’s litigation group. His practice is focused on complex civil litigation and business litigation, including contract law, asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements and other matters. Wes has participated in litigation before state and federal courts and frequently drafts appellate briefs for state and federal courts of appeals. He also has considerable experience in handling matters involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).
