Vorys Included Among MCCA’s 2023 Thomas L. Sager Award Top 20 Finalists
The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) announced the finalists for the 2023 Thomas L. Sager Award, a national award that “highlights the firms’ commitment to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive legal industry that benefits everyone.” Finalists are identified in three categories: Category 5 (more than 650 lawyers), Category 4 (251 – 650 Lawyers) and Labor & Employment firms. Vorys is a top 20 finalist in Category 4.
The MCCA analyzes law firm demographics, leadership composition, retention, and promotion of women and diverse lawyers to determine the finalists and winners for the Sager Award.
“We are so proud to be a finalist for the 2023 Sager Award,” said Jolie Havens, Vorys partner and chief diversity and inclusion officer. “This recognition confirms and celebrates our unwavering commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the strides we have made over the past several years.”
The Sager Award has been presented since 1999 and was named after DuPont Senior Vice President and General Counsel Thomas L. Sager, who was a pioneer in increasing diversity in the legal profession.
The winners will be announced at the MCCA’s Diversity Gala on October 11.
